Why would Worldschooling Families like this?: 
Really informative museum. Relatively cheap (under 18s free, adults currently £12 for a whole year, multiple entry). Something to do on a rainy day.

Why would Worldschooling Families like this?: 
Easily accessible for humans of all ages. Less busy than other areas of the Lake District, but just as beautiful. If you are staying somewhere locally during the summer you can turn up at one of the carparks about 4.30pm for an evening swim/picnic, and it is much quieter, and light until about 10pm!

Beautiful location, and loads of activities relating to the site available on their website if you want to use it to learn about Romans or archaeology. Plus, you can ask the excavating archaeologists as many questions as you like!

Why would Worldschooling Families like this?: 
Who doesn't like books?! I realise you can't take them everywhere and they weigh a bit, but for those of us that like a proper book rather than an electronic one, second-hand bookstores are wonderful.
